Info About Canon Australia & Canon Australia Store

Canon incorporated is a multinational company dealing in optical imaging products.

History

Canon originally was established in 1937 by Takeshi Mitarai, Takeo Maeda, Saburo Uchida and Goro Yoshida. In its infancy, they made high-quality precise instruments to be used in state of the art research laboratories.

Initially, Canon had no proprietary manufacturing processes for their own glass, and hence their first cameras used lenses from Nikon. The development followed in leaps and bounds, making Canon one of the largest producers of cameras and other imaging equipment in the 21st century.

Values

Production of electronics, in general, is considered to be a highly wasteful process, although Canon does its best to deal with this and reduce their carbon footprint and inspect on ecology as much as they possibly can.

Canon has been named the best climate-friendly company multiple times and they stick to their slogan of “green is just a shade of blue.” They hope to emphasize the importance of social welfare, humanitarian needs, disaster relief, education and more that should be considered important for a multinational company rather than just concentrating on ecological impact.

After the 2008 earthquake in China, Canon was one of the first responders in terms of financial aid and gave almost $1.5 million to the red cross society and to the people who were displaced due to the natural calamity.

Products

Canon is considered to be the gold standard when it comes to optical and imaging equipment, and they offer these products with worldwide international shipping so anyone with the right amount of expertise can be part of the next “wildlife through Canon's eyes” in partnership with National Geographic.

As of today, Canon offers an expansive range of products including but not limited to cameras, projectors, printers, lenses and so much, making them the destination for anything related to optics and imaging technology.
