Established in the year 1819, they were originally known as Johnston&Co. They have grown of the years to become Ireland’s leading retailer in magazines, newspapers, and books. They have over 60 outlets combining both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Their flagship store is located in O'Connell Street in Dublin. It has 4 floors, The Muse Café, reading areas in the extensive store which provides a relaxing environment for their customers. They offer a broad variety of magazines, books, newspapers, stationery and greeting cards. They also provide computer accessories, DVDs, toys, stock music and videos in some of their stores.

They established their online presence in the year 1998. They started this to let their customers purchase gift cards and books from their desktop. They have grown to become the top online book and ebook shop in Ireland. They deliver all around Ireland for free. They offer excellent service and value to their customers. Eason charges a delivery fee of €3.80 for orders below €10 in Ireland and UK. For orders above €10, they offer free delivery in the UK and Ireland. They charge a standard delivery fee of €10 for Europe and USA and €15 for Australia and Canada. They charge €25 for other countries. They also have Clicked and Collect option which lets you pick up the product according to your convenience.
