Evans Cycles is a leading cycling retailer in the UK, having to serve the cycling society for over 50 years with cycling products and accessories. Evans Cycles were founded by Fredrik Evans in 1921 when he first opened shop in Kennington Street in London. Later, it was run by his manager due to his Air Force priorities and was later owned by Joseph Smith in 1950. A few years later, Smith handed over the shop to his son Gary Smith, who gave a new scale to the business by making it a cycle retail business.
The growth of Evans Cycles
Since then, Evans cycle had been witnessing proliferating growth, and re-development of the shop took the business site to Waterloo in the late 70s. Evans cycles have their latest distribution site built on a 50,000 sq. ft. in Gatwick, Sussex, with an expansion plan of 1, 25,000 sq. ft. in the coming years. Although, all previous distribution centers and offices are still in operation, representing a massive expansion of the business. Seeing the pace of business, Evans cycles website got a launch in 1999. Since the beginning of their high-end business, quality has been their asset and golden key of their success.
