La Quinta is a Spanish word that translates to a countryside villa or a farmhouse. It is a daughter company of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. The first ever La Quinta was opened in San Antonio, Texas by the brothers Sam and Phil Barshop. When you type lq.com it takes you to the website but it is of the address of Wyndham Hotels. It is confusing and disappointing at the same time.
A Strong Parent
La Quinta was a very nice hotel chain and it was doing good. But it was recently taken over by Wyndham Hotels and Resorts and the deal concluded in 2018. Wyndham is a huge company, definitely bigger than La Quinta. So all the support and finance and the experience that La Quinta needs is right there in the backyard. This is quite reassuring as opposed to the website glitch.
